Noiser Launches 'Titanic: Ship of Dreams'

Play Titanic: Ship of Dreams 1. The Biggest Ship in the World

A new, thrilling boxset series exploring life and death aboard history’s most famous ship.

The award-winning Noiser Podcast Network has already taken listeners on immersive journeys through the Normandy Landings, the rise and fall of Adolf Hitler, and the War on Drugs.

Now, on the anniversary of its sinking, Noiser is inviting you to experience - in extraordinary detail - the tragic maiden voyage of the RMS Titanic.

RMS Titanic departing Southampton on April 10, 1912.

Across 13 weekly episodes, host Paul McGann will guide you through the ship’s corridors, compartments and cabins – from the opulent surroundings of the first-class passengers... all the way down to the harsh, soot-covered engine room.

Every inch of the vast vessel will be brought to life with expert interviews, archive testimony from survivors, original music, and intricate sound design.

Alongside his brother Stephen, host Paul McGann will explore their remarkable family connection to the story. They will tell the tale of their great-uncle Jimmy, a coal-trimmer on board the Titanic, who survived the catastrophe in astonishing circumstances and was one of the last people to see the captain alive.

Stephen McGann

my great-uncle was in the bottom of the ship with more than 2000 people, some already away, 2000 desperate people above him on walkways and gangplanks, and he's at the bottom. And all I know is that 40 minutes later, from that point, from the time he's released, he incredibly manages to escape with his life. How did it happen?

Stephen McGann

More than a century on, there is still so much to investigate and illuminate about this ill-fated journey: from the shipbuilder killed during its launch (the Titanic’s first victim); to the vessel’s near-miss when departing Southampton; and the incredibly unlikely series of events that led to its ultimate destruction. You’ll be right there on board to experience it all.
